S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Cost of Hope will be the next story expansion for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl by GSC Game World, a game that combines an intense first-person shooter and survival elements. The expansion is scheduled for release this summer, but ahead of the launch, the studio decided to keep the intrigue alive with a new story trailer that prepares players for the next journey through the Zone.
In the new expansion, players will find themselves in the center of a conflict between two factions. Together with Zulu and Mavka, they will try to survive in the Zone and uncover the deeper mystery behind the fighting. This is exactly the kind of intense and unexpected adventure that fans of GSC Game World projects and the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. universe are waiting for.

Today’s trailer demonstrates some of the new locations that players will be able to explore, and also allows you to learn more about the elements of the expansion’s story campaign.
“The Zone has everything – even miracles. Stalkers, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Cost of Hope is very close. Get ready for a new large-scale non-linear expansion that will bring dozens of hours of gameplay, unforgettable stories, and charismatic characters,” the video description reads.

Although Cost of Hope is set to add dozens of hours of new content, it’s not the only new thing S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 fans can expect. Along with the paid expansion, GSC Game World will also release Sealed Truth, another major update with additional story content. Unlike Cost of Hope, this update will be free for all game owners.
Sealed Truth will focus on the research of the X-18 laboratory. Players will be able to learn more about the voice that helped them during their previous visit to this place in the main campaign Answers Come at a Price. This addition will be a kind of gratitude to the community for remaining faithful to the Zone. So even those who don’t plan to buy DLC will get new content. At the same time, owners of the Ultimate Edition will have access to Cost of Hope immediately after its release.

Despite the fact that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 had some technical problems after the release, critics and reviewers praised the game and its strengths. At Wccftech, it was called “an uncompromising game that will often frustrate you, but also offers a unique experience that can hardly be found anywhere else.”
