The Mitsubishi ASX VR-e electric crossover will go on sale in the fourth quarter of 2026. Mitsubishi developed this new model based on the Foxtron Bria – an electric car from the Taiwanese manufacturer Foxtron, a subsidiary of Foxconn – while the platform architecture and exterior design were developed by the Italian company Pininfarina.

The ASX VR-e is based on a compact electric vehicle with an overall length of 4.315 m and a wheelbase of 2.8 m. The base model, the Foxtron Bria, is equipped with a 57.7 kWh LFP battery. The rear-wheel-drive variant produces 229 k.s., reaches 100 km/h in 6.8 seconds, and has a claimed range of up to 516 km according to the NEDC test cycle. Meanwhile, the all-wheel-drive version with two electric motors boosts power to approximately 400 k.s., reduces acceleration time to 3.9 seconds, and the expected range on a single charge is 466 km.

Mitsubishi is currently refraining from disclosing the final technical specifications for the ASX VR-e models. At the same time, it has been confirmed that the vehicle will receive custom calibrations tailored to local road conditions, as well as stylistic adjustments to the exterior, interior, and wheel designs. The cabin will feature a 15.6-inch center display, a wireless charging system for smartphones, a suite of driver assistance systems, and a 360-degree camera system.

It’s hard to hide the family resemblance to the Foxtron Bria, as the car retains the same platform and the easily recognizable silhouette of its predecessor. Mitsubishi signed a partnership agreement with Foxtron to supply this electric vehicle back in May 2025, with assembly of vehicles for the Australian and New Zealand markets taking place directly in Taiwan.
