They made this statement in a new video and social media post by the IWGB (Independent Workers’ Union of Great Britain). “Don’t boycott GTA VI. Fight for justice for the people who created it,” the post reads. Union representatives announced that they have created a new T-shirt, which is now available for pre-order. All proceeds from its sale will go toward covering the legal expenses of the fired Rockstar developers.

“For years, we have poured our hard work, skill, and creativity into creating GTA, and we want people to be able to immerse themselves in the universe we helped create,” the developers urge in the IWGB video. “But that doesn’t mean we want you to let Rockstar get away with it.”
The story began last fall when 31 Rockstar Games employees were fired for “gross disciplinary violations.” The alleged reason was the discussion of internal company communications on a Discord server accessible only to employees and union members. Most of the conversations there concerned salaries, bonuses, and other personnel issues. All of the affected employees were members of the company’s union, which led to a labor tribunal case between Rockstar and the IWGB. Since then, the union has gained popularity, although Rockstar itself denies all allegations of suppressing union activity.
