Ubisoft is already entering the eleventh year of support for Rainbow Six Siege, and very soon the developers will present a new season of content. The big Operation System Override update will bring a redesign of one of the classic characters, a new map, large-scale changes to the gameplay in the ranked mode, and more.

Instead of releasing a new operative, this update reworked Grace Nam from SMB Unit 707 with the call sign Dokkaebi. Now her ability to hack into enemy team phones can only target individual operatives. If they fail to answer the call and turn off the timer, the phone will explode, causing damage to the character and rendering the device unusable. As a result, all surveillance tools will be lost until the end of the round, and the player will not be able to use any gadgets accessed through the phone.
Dokkaebi can still hack phones to access cameras, but only for a short time. In addition, it will receive the XK23 assault rifle as its main weapon option for short- and medium-range firefights.
The game will also feature a brand new Calypso Casino map inspired by the classic map from Rainbow Six Vegas. “While retaining the essence of the original map, we have carefully improved it to meet the requirements of the Siege competitive mode,” the developers say. – “With a new rooftop crane, a basement revival point from which to climb to the casino facade, and an expanded network of vents for movement, the vertical elements open up entirely new routes, strategies, and opportunities for countermeasures.

One of the biggest innovations will be a large-scale overhaul of the Rainbow Six Siege rating system. The studio notes that this is the most popular player selection mode, so they listened to user feedback to reorganize it and make it as fair and conducive to progress as possible. Among the changes are the abandonment of the hidden MMR (Matchmaking Rating) system and the public display of rankings through ranks, qualifying matches at the beginning of each season, rewards in the form of cosmetic items and premium currency simply for participating in ranked matches. Restrictions will also be added for groups of players to reduce too large differences in ranking during matches.

Other changes to the season include a weekly rotation of operatives for the trial version of the game, balance updates for some characters, as well as additional modernization and visual improvements to the Emerald Plains and Kanal maps. Official mouse and keyboard support on consoles will be available in the middle of the season.
The launch of Rainbow Six Siege Year 11 Season 2 Operation System Override for all players is scheduled for June 2. But starting today, Ubisoft will offer access to the update on a test server to get feedback from players and eliminate possible bugs.
