Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced will be the first remake in the series and a remake of one of the most popular parts of the franchise. Therefore, it is not surprising that Ubisoft is working on this project with the utmost care. Recently, the studio made a gift to fans and shared new details about character movement improvements and updates to the combat, parkour, and stealth systems. All this was illustrated with new gameplay footage.

All of the changes presented are focused on improving the mechanics of the original game and providing smoothness for a more comfortable gameplay experience.

“One of the aspects we have worked hard on and improved based on the feedback we received from early community members during playtesting is to accurately recreate Edward’s sensitivity and movement dynamics,” said Paul Fu, creative director and developer of the original Black Flag game. According to him, the game will feature updated landing animations that will allow Edward to recover faster from falls, as well as more responsive jumps and short acceleration after running on walls to improve parkour mechanics.

Movement capabilities will also be expanded with the Advanced Parkour system, which uses the latest version of the Anvil Engine used in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. This should provide better control over Edward’s movement.

Stealth mechanics also received elements borrowed from Shadows. Eagle Vision now supports the Observe function, which allows you to highlight enemy positions, mission objectives, and hints. The developer notes that this feature proved to be a good fit in Assassin’s Creed Shadows and significantly improved stealth, so its return is positive news. In addition, the ability to crouch at any time expands the options for stealth and makes this style of play more effective.

“Crouching changes Edward’s visibility, affecting how visible he is to enemies at medium and long distances,” says the game’s creative director. – “This is especially useful when moving through bushes and across rooftops. It also reduces movement noise, making it easier for Edward to perform stealth kills.”

The combat system of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced has also been redesigned to better reflect the abilities and style of the killer pirate. The updated combat system is based on finishing off enemies. When enemies are in a vulnerable state, they can be eliminated with the help of such types of attacks as Hidden Blade Takedown, Perfect Parry Takedown, Wall Takedown and Ground Takedown.

Thanks to the emergence of new types of attacks that change depending on the selected weapon, as well as the return of the iconic Gun Kata style, the combat system will become even cooler. At the same time, enemies will react faster to the player’s actions, so the battles will become more complex and dynamic.
