I didn’t go looking for this chair – it found me. The TX3 FLEX Pro Mesh ended up on my desk for review, and honestly, my first impression was purely visual: an unusual frame, mesh instead of traditional upholstery, and a somewhat futuristic design. It doesn’t resemble anything I’m used to. After years of sitting in standard office chairs with leather finishes, armrests, and a “corporate” feel, I started wanting something different – something more modern, more dynamic, and less like a CEO chair from a 1990s film.

That’s exactly why the TX3 FLEX Pro Mesh immediately stood out. This is a chair with character and an ambition to be more than just “comfortable seating.” It follows a clear design philosophy: maximum adjustability, minimal unnecessary elements, and mesh instead of foam padding. Whether it justifies its price of around $630, and whether it remains comfortable for several hours of daily work – those are the questions I explored over the course of a month. Here is the full, unfiltered assessment.

Positioning and Price

At approximately $630 / €580, the TX3 FLEX Pro Mesh is positioned as a serious ergonomic workstation chair intended for users who spend 8–12 hours a day at a desk. This is clearly not a budget product, nor a purely “gaming-style” chair with aggressive aesthetics. Instead, the brand is targeting IT professionals, designers, and esports users who need genuine spinal support rather than a visually striking piece of furniture.

TX3 Flex Pro Mesh

In this price segment, there is currently a real competition for comfort on the local market. By choosing the TX3 Flex Pro Mesh, you are paying for a modern, assertive design combined with technologies that were previously found only in chairs priced closer to $1,000. The result is a well-developed product: stylish, technically advanced, and ergonomically oriented.

Package Contents

The ThunderX3 FLEX Pro Mesh is delivered in a large, sturdy cardboard box with minimal black branding – the TX3 logo, model name, and a line-drawn outline of the chair printed on all sides. The presentation is restrained and professional in tone. The package is heavy: the chair itself weighs 25.5 kg, while the sealed box weighs 32 kg. As a result, handling it at a delivery point without some physical effort can be challenging, though it remains manageable overall.

Under the protective layer (an internal cardboard insert and foam padding), all components are neatly arranged in their designated compartments and sealed in branded plastic bags with TX3 printing across the surface. The larger elements – the backrest with an integrated lumbar support module, the seat, and the base crossframe – are packed separately and protected with foam inserts. Smaller components such as the headrest, the SYNC6 mechanism, and the armrests are placed in individual cardboard boxes.

The wheels with branded logo caps, the gas lift, and the arm support legs are also carefully packaged. All screws, bolts, and the L-shaped assembly tool are sorted into separate compartments within a transparent plastic blister pack, ensuring nothing is mixed or disorganized. An assembly manual with clear diagrams is included as well. Overall, the packaging quality matches the chair’s price point – thoughtful, secure, and genuinely satisfying to unpack.

Assembly of the TX3 FLEX Pro Mesh

The process of preparing the chair for use should not present any particular difficulties – all steps are logical and easy to follow, even for a beginner like me. TX3 has ensured that everything needed is included: the package comes with a complete set of fasteners, and the step-by-step instructions are highly detailed. A notable advantage is the inclusion of a universal assembly tool in the box. It is designed to fit all types of screws used in the chair’s construction. Another thoughtful detail is the presence of several spare screws, which are also included in the package.

The TX3 FLEX Pro Mesh features a particularly notable element – the SYNC6 mechanism. This is a multi-function system designed to take ergonomics to a higher level by allowing the chair to be adjusted with a high degree of precision to match individual body characteristics. Installing the SYNC6 mechanism is a key step in the assembly process, as this component is responsible for the chair’s core ergonomic functionality. Despite its technical nature, the installation process remains straightforward and logically structured.

Chair Assembly Order:

  1. Base preparation: Start with the foundation – insert the casters into the five-star base until you hear a distinct click, then place the gas lift into the central opening.
  2. SYNC6 mechanism installation: Turn the seat upside down and place it on a flat surface. This unit is the core of the chair’s ergonomics, so correct positioning is important: make sure the adjustment handles are oriented for easy access. Align the mechanism with the mounting holes, hand-tighten the four included screws, and then secure them using a crisscross tightening pattern with the universal tool.
  3. Armrest installation: While the seat remains inverted, attach the armrest supports to the corresponding mounting points. Thanks to the design, they fit into place precisely without additional force.
  4. Mounting onto the base: Next, place the assembled seat unit onto the gas lift. Simply align the opening in the SYNC6 mechanism with the gas lift piston – the weight of the chair will ensure a secure fit.
  5. Final step: Attach the backrest to the metal mounting brackets using screws. Once the SYNC6 mechanism is firmly fixed to the seat, the remaining step is to place the entire structure onto the already assembled wheel base.

Overall, the entire assembly process takes no more than 20–30 minutes. The construction is intuitive, so even without assistance, all components fit together easily and securely.

Design and Materials

At first glance, the FLEX Pro Mesh stands out with its futuristic silhouette. This is not a typical gaming chair – that much is clear immediately. And, of course, its defining feature is…

Backrest

Compared to typical gaming chair designs, the backrest of the TX3 FLEX Pro Mesh resembles a professional posture-support tool rather than a conventional seat component. As noted earlier, its structure is divided into two active zones: the upper section is responsible for stabilizing the spine, while the lower section provides targeted lumbar support.

Of particular note is the flexibility of the lower section, which dynamically adapts to every movement. In addition to this passive adaptability, manual adjustments are also available – the entire backrest can be configured to achieve an optimal position for the user.

The entire backrest can be raised or lowered by up to 5 cm and reclined to 135° using the TX3 SYNC6 mechanism, which I have already mentioned multiple times – and, spoiler alert, will mention again. The construction combines an aluminum frame, durable plastic elements, and a breathable Pro Mesh fabric that effectively dissipates heat and moisture. The plastic components are well-finished and feel solid, although it is the metal parts that stand out as particularly well-executed.

Seat

The seat follows the same overall concept: it is built with a mesh surface on a metal frame, which provides high resistance to wear over time. The seating feel is fairly firm and elastic, which may appeal to users who prefer clear body support and stable positioning, although it does require some adaptation.

The seat adjustment options are extensive – you can adjust not only the height, but also the depth and even the tilt angle.

Armrests

The armrests feature an enlarged design, which immediately distinguishes them from many competitors. Their main feature is full 4D adjustability with a wide range of configuration options. They can be adjusted in height by up to 7 cm, moved forward and backward by 5 cm, tilted up to 30°, rotated inward or outward by 15°, and locked at any point within their range of motion. This effectively provides near-complete positional freedom, allowing users to fine-tune the armrests for different body types and activity scenarios.

The only point of concern is that the rotation locking mechanism proved to be overly sensitive in everyday use. Given the chair’s considerable size and weight, it is natural to pull it closer to the desk or reposition it while holding the armrests. However, due to the very light resistance of the joints, the armrests tend to change position immediately or even complete a full rotation with minimal force. As a result, instead of moving the chair, you end up rotating the armrest around its axis, requiring it to be readjusted each time – and this happens repeatedly in daily use.

Based on the configuration, there do not appear to be any additional levers or screws for rigid locking – only a single mechanical button, which likely does not provide sufficient resistance. This excessive mobility slightly undermines the overall impression of the chair’s ergonomics.

Base, Wheels, and Headrest

The chair is supported by a heavy-duty, solid metal base designed for long-term intensive use. The casters rotate almost silently, allowing smooth movement around the room even at night without disturbing others.

The system is completed by a high-tech headrest made from a combination of plastic and mesh. It combines manual adjustment of both height and tilt with a mechanism that automatically adapts to your posture, locking securely into the selected position. No issues here.

Functional Features and Comfort

After nearly a month of daily use for several hours at a time, I can honestly say it is difficult to go back to a conventional chair. The back no longer feels fatigued. This is probably the most notable impression of the TX3 FLEX Pro Mesh – the mesh backrest keeps the spine properly supported even when you stop consciously monitoring your posture and become fully absorbed in work. The neck also remains comfortable, as the headrest naturally finds a suitable position without interfering. There is no overheating of the back at all – the mesh performs as advertised in terms of breathability, and even after several hours at the desk, the sensation is still fresh rather than strained. In this regard, the chair performs very well.

But there is one aspect I cannot ignore – the seat. If you switch from a soft office chair, such as a standard IKEA model like mine, the first few weeks may feel uncomfortable. The mesh seat is firm and elastic, and this is noticeable physically – especially after 4–6 hours of continuous work. However, this is largely a matter of adaptation.

The chair’s construction gives the impression of a monolithic, very solid mechanism – and in the best possible sense, this is exactly what you feel in use. There are no creaks, no play, and no sense that anything is loose or shifting. The chair remains firmly planted and behaves like a high-quality, well-engineered product. The matte plastic finish is pleasant to the touch and looks restrained and mature, although it does tend to attract fingerprints with frequent contact. The only area where this sense of solidity and premium feel is slightly undermined is the armrests.

They are made of matte plastic with a different texture, and next to the chair’s substantial metal frame they feel slightly out of place – almost as if they were borrowed from another model. In addition, the locking mechanism does not provide perfect stability. Securing the armrests in a desired position and being confident they will stay there is not always guaranteed. For a chair in this price range, a more precise and reliable solution in this area would have been preferable.

Conclusion

The TX3 FLEX Pro Mesh is a chair with a very clearly defined target audience, and this is stated without any hesitation or diplomatic framing. If you work at a computer for 6–10 hours a day, if your back starts to feel the strain after long sessions, if overheating is an issue, and if you are looking to move away from the typical “executive office chair” style – this product is aimed at you. Gamers, IT professionals, designers, and freelancers who take their workspace seriously are the ones who will benefit most from it.

TX3 Flex Pro Mesh

Would I buy it myself for $630? Yes, because the chair is worth it – its orthopedic focus is immediately noticeable, and the level of ergonomics is exceptional. Comparable solutions from brands like Herman Miller or Humanscale would cost roughly three times as much. The only thing I regret is that it is not possible to order a separate soft seat cushion. But that is my personal issue.
