It has been several years since the release of the rugged 1st gen Amazfit T-Rex from Huami. Now the company has released a sequel, Amazfit T-Rex 2. It builds on the strengths of its predecessor and offers notable improvements. Huami Amazfit T-Rex 2 will be available for $229.
Amazfit T-Rex 2 is a smartwatch for health monitoring, which is well protected from physical influences and seasonal factors. In terms of appearance, the watch received a 1.39-inch AMOLED display, enclosed in a case made of polymer alloy. It has four stainless steel buttons. The new strap is made of antibacterial silicone material.
Huami claims that the watch has passed “15 military-grade tests”, which allows it to meet the MIL-STD-810G standard. This means that it can withstand extreme temperatures, whether hot or cold (down to -30°C), as well as extreme humidity and salt spray. You can feel confident going into the water, as the watch provides protection up to 10 atm.
Amazfit T-Rex 2 supports five global satellite positioning systems, including Beidou, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and QZSS. In addition, they can track 150 types of workouts and sleep. The gadget is powered by a 500 mAh battery. Huami Amazfit T-Rex 2 offers from 24 to 45 days of use depending on the load. If you are a very active user, the battery life will be reduced to 10 days.
Huami Amazfit T-Rex 2 comes with a Zepp app that can register information. It will be the main data center for the watch, which tracks all actions, and the application for pairing. It is compatible with previous Amazfit watches and is available for iOS and Android.
Amazfit T-Rex 2 will go on sale in China on May 31 for $229. The watch will be available in four colors. It is yet unknown, whether the watch will be available on the global market.
