After many months of leaks, renders, and endless discussions, Google has finally officially confirmed the launch of the Pixel 10a. A full presentation with specifications is still to come, but even the preliminary materials give an idea of what to expect from the new A-series smartphone. Apparently, it will be a familiar scenario of a budget Pixel – without radical changes, but with a few noticeable touches.
After a long period of rumors, Google revealed the Pixel 10a in a short teaser, confirming that the official launch will take place in two weeks. The company demonstrated the device’s appearance for the first time and announced that pre-orders for the Pixel 10a will start on February 18. In addition to the date, the video also shows a slightly updated design of the smartphone and one of the new colors of the body.

The released footage shows that the Pixel 10a does not deviate too much from the visual concept of the Pixel 9a. The most noticeable difference is the rear camera unit. Now the dual camera is flat and does not protrude above the body. For comparison, last year’s model had a pill-shaped protrusion around the module, which made the camera visually more noticeable.

Another interesting detail is the new color of the body. In the teaser, it looks like a blue-purple color, very similar to Iris on the Pixel 9a and Indigo on the basic Pixel 10. This is probably the Lavender color previously mentioned in the leaks. At the same time, another shade can be seen in the background of the video – probably Berry, a rendering of which has already appeared online. Apart from these nuances, the overall design of the Pixel 10a almost completely repeats last year’s mid-range Pixel. The shape of the body, the arrangement of elements, and the overall styling remained unchanged.
Google has not yet provided any official information about the specifications or price. However, the tagline of the teaser video A phone with more in store, in store soon may hint at expanding the basic storage configuration to 256 GB, which would be a nice upgrade for the A series.
Of course, there have been numerous leaks. If they are to be believed, the Pixel 10a will have a 6.3-inch display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and peak brightness of up to 2700 nits, a Tensor G4 processor, a 5100 mAh battery, and a 48MP main camera.

It’s unlikely that Pixel 10a will receive any radical innovations. However, it’s good to see that Google continues to experiment with bright colors. Despite all the elegance of black and white smartphones, a device with a distinctive shade that is memorable and different from others always looks more interesting.
