Hisense has revealed several new features of its upcoming A10 smartphone with an E Ink display. The new announcement came nearly a month after the company first began teasing the revolutionary device. The smartphone will support page-turning in PDF documents, split-screen mode for working with multiple documents simultaneously, and will ensure smooth handwritten note-taking even during extended sessions.

At the heart of the A10 is an 8-core Qualcomm QCM6690 processor, manufactured using a 4-nm process. The processor also manages an intelligent temperature control system that reduces ghosting – the residual image left behind after turning a page. This is a fairly common issue with E Ink displays. When the screen is used solely for reading, the chip automatically lowers its clock speed, which significantly extends battery life compared to standard flagship processors.
The smartphone will ship with Android 16 out of the box and, according to the company, will receive long-term system updates and security patches.

Hisense has equipped the A10 with six practical features. These include NFC, an infrared remote control for air conditioners, TVs, projectors, and set-top boxes without an internet connection, a feature for cloning popular apps, built-in call recording, magnetic wireless charging, and a special fast screen refresh mode designed to reduce lag and ghosting on the E Ink display.
The design retains the features Hisense previously showcased: the front panel features a 6.13-inch E Ink display with a paper-like texture, designed for reading and note-taking, while the back features an additional color LCD display, available as an option. Users can freely switch between the two screens, using the color display to view photos and videos or scroll through social media and chat messages in messaging apps.
The A10 will be the first major update to Hisense’s line of E Ink smartphones since the A9 returned to store shelves with updated specifications. The Hisense A10 is scheduled to launch in August, with sales expected to begin toward the end of the month.
