What would happen if you combined a screen that’s comfortable to read from – like those on E Ink e-readers – with the capabilities of a modern smartphone? The result is the Bigme HiBreak Dual 2. It’s the world’s first smartphone to feature two large screens – one E Ink and one LCD – with the E Ink screen supporting a refresh rate of up to 80 FPS. It’s also equipped with a Dimensity 8300 processor, runs on Android 16, and supports two 5G SIM cards. A crowdfunding campaign launches today on Kickstarter.
The HiBreak Dual 2 features an innovative design with two large displays. The front panel features a 6.13-inch E Ink screen that’s easy on the eyes and designed for extended reading, browsing the web, taking notes, working with documents, and performing tasks that require concentration.

The back panel features a 5-inch LCD display, which is suitable for viewing photos, videos, maps, games, or other apps. Thanks to two screens in a single device, users can switch between comfortable reading on the E Ink display and a standard LCD.

One of the HiBreak Dual 2’s major upgrades is the E Ink display’s refresh rate, which reaches 80 FPS with the potential for further improvement through ongoing optimization. Compared to traditional E Ink-based devices, this new model offers a smoother and more responsive experience when scrolling through pages, typing text, browsing websites, switching between apps, and multitasking. In addition, Bigme has added a page-turning animation with a wave effect, which helps reduce the perception of flickering when turning pages in HD mode on an E Ink screen.

The company continues to invest in the development of high-refresh-rate E Ink technology. We previously reported that several Bigme devices have already achieved performance levels ranging from 60 to 80 FPS. Combined with its proprietary technology for automatically reducing the afterimage effect, this will ensure a balance between refresh rate, image clarity, and artifact control.
The HiBreak Dual 2’s performance is powered by the Dimensity 8300 processor, which scores up to 1.6 million points on the AnTuTu benchmark. As a result, the smartphone handles multitasking efficiently, can run demanding apps, and delivers high performance. The device runs on Android 16, supports two 5G SIM cards, and is compatible with a stylus, which makes it easier to take notes, make annotations, and draw.

The HiBreak Dual 2 is available in two display options: color E Ink + LCD and black-and-white E Ink + LCD. The smartphone will be available in configurations with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of flash storage, as well as with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of flash storage. In addition, the device supports 30-watt fast charging and comes with a protective case included. When the case is attached, the back of the device becomes flatter, improving grip, portability, and stability when placed on a table.

As part of the crowdfunding campaign, users who pre-funded the project with $5 on the official Bigme website will be eligible for a $30 cashback. Once the campaign launches on Kickstarter, you can also team up with a friend to form a group of two and receive an additional 5% discount. As a result, the final price of the HiBreak Dual 2 model – featuring a black-and-white E Ink display and an LCD screen, 12 GB of RAM, and 256 GB of flash memory – will be $544.50 after applying the discounts and cashback.
The Bigme HiBreak Dual 2 changes the way you use a smartphone by combining E Ink and LCD displays. The E Ink screen is designed for comfortable reading without straining your eyes, while the LCD display is for fast, familiar operation. Please note that the number of units available through the crowdfunding campaign, as well as the Super Early Bird and Early Bird offers, is limited. You can support the project immediately after its launch on Kickstarter.
