A new benchmark leak from WHYLAB has revealed key performance details of the upcoming Redmi K Pad 2 tablet. The main emphasis in the device is not only on a powerful chip, but also on efficient cooling, which allows you to maintain stable performance even under prolonged load.
The tablet will be the first compact solution based on the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor. According to Xiaomi’s internal tests, this is the company’s most productive platform in the tablet segment. At the same time, the engineering implementation of the heat dissipation system plays a key role.
Inside the case, a large evaporation chamber with an area of 15300 mm² made of aluminum alloy is used. This approach made it possible to keep the temperature within 37-43 °C even under high load. This is an unusually stable indicator for a compact tablet. During an hour-long test in dynamic shooters such as CrossFire and Call of Duty with a frequency of up to 165 frames per second, the body temperature did not exceed 42.6 °C. At the same time, performance remained stable without noticeable drops.
In less demanding scenarios, the results look even more impressive. Honor of Kings demonstrates an almost perfect 119.99 fps with a power consumption of only 5.4 watts and a temperature of about 37 °C. In fact, this is a level close to idle for a flagship chip. More resource-intensive games also keep the bar steady. Genshin Impact at 1080p resolution shows an average of 59.94 fps at 6.6W and 40°C. Honkai: Star Rail holds around 59.8 fps with a peak temperature of 43.1 °C, and Zenless Zone Zero, which puts more strain on the processor, runs at 59.32 fps at 7.9 W. In all scenarios, the device maintains the target frame rate without critical overheating or trotting. This indicates a balance between performance and energy efficiency.
The display with a refresh rate of 165 Hz is worth a separate mention. It allows you to fully realize the potential of the hardware platform in games with high FPS and confirms the positioning of the device as a gaming device. In the compact tablet segment, there has traditionally been a compromise between power and stability. Redmi K Pad 2, according to leaks, is trying to eliminate this limitation by combining a flagship SoC with a massive cooling system.
The official price and release date have not yet been revealed, but the device already looks like a serious contender for leadership among compact gaming tablets.
