Samsung has prepared a major update to One UI 9.0, built on the latest Android 17 operating system. This firmware debuted in July 2026 alongside the release of the new Galaxy Fold 8, Galaxy Fold 8 Ultra, and Galaxy Flip 7 foldable smartphones. The manufacturer will soon begin rolling out the latest software to other previously released devices from the brand.

Many owners of the Korean company’s gadgets are wondering whether their device made the list of supported models, when to expect the update, and exactly what new features the system will offer.
The list of compatible Galaxy S models includes the Galaxy S26, S26+, S26 Ultra, Galaxy S25, S25+, S25 Ultra, S25 Edge, S25 FE, the Galaxy S24, S24+, S24 Ultra, S24 FE, as well as the Galaxy S23, S23+, S23 Ultra, and S23 FE.
Among the foldable devices in the Galaxy series, the update is being developed for the Galaxy TriFold, Galaxy Fold 7, Flip 7, Flip 7 FE, Galaxy Fold Special Edition, Galaxy Fold 6, Flip 6, Galaxy Fold 5, and Flip 5.
The Galaxy A, M, and F series are represented by the Galaxy A57, A56, A55, A54, Galaxy A37, A36, A35, A34, Galaxy A27, A26, A25, A24, Galaxy A17 (4G/5G), A16 (4G/5G), A15 (4G/5G), Galaxy A07 (4G/5G), A06 5G, Galaxy M56, M55, M55s, M54, Galaxy M47, Galaxy M36, M35, M34, Galaxy M17, M17e, M16, M15, Galaxy M07, M06, Galaxy F70e, Galaxy F56, F55, F54, Galaxy F36, F34, Galaxy F17, F16, F15, as well as the Galaxy F07 and F06.
The Galaxy Tab series includes the Galaxy Tab S11, Tab S11 Ultra, Galaxy Tab S10 Lite, Tab S10 Plus, Tab S10 Ultra, Galaxy Tab S10 FE, Tab S10 FE+, Galaxy Tab S9, Tab S9+, Tab S9 Ultra, Galaxy Tab S9 FE, Tab S9 FE+, Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2024), Galaxy Tab A11, Tab A11+, Galaxy Tab Active 5, and Tab Active 5 Pro.
The rugged Galaxy XCover lineup includes the Galaxy XCover 7 and Galaxy XCover 7 Pro.
Although Samsung has not yet published an official list, this compilation is based entirely on the company’s current update policy, so this list is quite reliable.
The firmware release schedule closely mirrors last year’s One UI 8.0 timeline. Beta testing began in May, and the stable release for the new foldable models took place in July. The manufacturer plans to begin a mass rollout in September, prioritizing the flagship Galaxy S26, Galaxy Fold 7, and Galaxy Flip 7 series, after which the update will reach the remaining budget and mid-range devices by the end of the year. At the same time, reports have emerged that Android 17 will be the last major update for some devices, and Samsung itself has already begun internal testing of One UI 9.5, even though the stable version of One UI 9.0 has yet to be fully rolled out.
The new interface brings smarter Galaxy AI features, including the Now Nudge smart assistant, the My FanCam object-tracking tool in the gallery, Voice Photo Assist for voice-controlled photo editing, Perplexity AI integration into the Samsung Internet browser, and personalized Now Brief cards. Notable visual changes include an updated quick access panel with separate sliders and floating navigation elements, as well as optimized wallpapers with generative fill. In addition, the developers have expanded multi-window support to three apps simultaneously, added new features to Samsung Notes and Overlay Game Booster, and enhanced security with an AI activity log, browser protection, and the Auto Blocker, which prevents dangerous installations.
