For me, events like IFA Berlin are more about people than technology. That’s why I initially planned for this piece to focus on communication rather than product launches – though, in the end, it didn’t quite turn out that way. My colleagues know I like to wait until the first wave of impressions settles before writing about the “aftertaste.” This article is no exception, and here I’ll be focusing on Acer’s booth at IFA 2025.

What’s new from Acer?

Let’s start with the new products and what stood out to me. Technology is always a subjective matter. When friends ask me what laptop or gadget they should buy, my advice is usually to start with their specific needs. With that in mind, I’ll also be looking at which use cases each device seems best suited for.

In short, Acer brought more than just traditional laptops to IFA 2025. The company highlighted AI-powered devices, tablets with new features, OLED monitors, and a high-performance AI workstation. The focus was clearly on mobility, battery life, and integrating artificial intelligence – even into entry-level product categories.

First, about tablets

Acer has pushed AI features down to the level of Android tablets, where many competitors are still cautious. Personally, I see Android tablets as a niche category, and the variety on the market often makes choosing the right one more complicated. At the same time, I’ve often heard requests for a versatile device that could serve as a secondary screen, an e-reader with note-taking capabilities, or a kind of digital pocket notebook. (Not to be confused with a smartphone, since jotting down notes or marking up documents is far less convenient on a phone.) In this context, the addition of AI agents seems like a genuinely useful step.

Next is the Acer Iconia X14 – a 14-inch OLED tablet with a built-in NPU to handle AI functions such as Smart Sensing, Super Resolution, and Smile Camera. It’s essentially one of the first Android tablets at this level to integrate dedicated AI capabilities. This model is aimed at more advanced users who want up-to-date functionality and modern technology in a compact form factor.

Let’s continue with Acer monitors

Monitors: from portable setups to OLED gaming. Earlier I mentioned the idea of a “portable monitor,” and Acer did in fact present a dedicated device in that category. Beyond that, there were also full-sized monitors on display. I had a chance to talk with the team behind Acer’s 3D monitors and even try out the effect myself. Since I have some background in 3D modeling, the experience felt familiar and engaging, which made the conversation both long and detailed. We even discussed the possibility of getting a review unit, so keep an eye on the site – there’s a good chance I’ll be diving deep into this topic.

Now to the specific models and who they might appeal to.

The Acer amadana 16APM1QJ is a 15.6-inch portable IPS monitor weighing just 0.65 kg. It includes HDMI and USB-C connectivity and comes in a minimalist design. This makes it a practical option for business trips, where having a second screen during meetings or data work can be a real advantage. For the European market, it’s expected to launch in Q1 2026 with a starting price of €119.

A more traditional option is the Acer amadana 27ART0 P1 – a 27-inch IPS monitor with a 144 Hz refresh rate. It features a minimalist ZeroFrame design and covers 99% of the color gamut. One clear advantage is the built-in docking station, which adds extra versatility. It’s also scheduled to reach the European market in Q1 2026, with pricing starting at €169.

The final monitor I’ll mention is the Acer CE270U Z – an OLED 26.5-inch display with a 280 Hz refresh rate, 0.03 ms response time, and 1,000-nit brightness. It’s clearly aimed at creative professionals, with some appeal for gamers as well. Like the previous models, it’s expected in Europe in Q1 2026, but the price is significantly higher, starting at €699.

Laptops

What immediately caught my attention was that the devices shown on stage weighed less than a kilogram. I lead a very mobile lifestyle myself, so I understand better than most how much every gram in a backpack matters. Of course, this doesn’t apply to gaming devices, which are in a completely different weight class. I should note upfront that I won’t be listing full technical specifications here – just the most interesting features and those worth highlighting. So don’t be surprised if you don’t see details like minimum or maximum RAM or storage capacities.

Acer is bringing AI to ChromeOS as well. The Chromebook Plus Spin 514  is Acer’s first Chromebook powered by the MediaTek Kompanio Ultra with an NPU capable of 50 TOPS. It features a 2.8K touchscreen, up to 17 hours of battery life, support for USI 2.0 styluses, and additional Google AI Pro features. An AI accelerator in a Chromebook is something competitors haven’t really showcased yet.

The Acer Swift Edge 14 AI immediately stands out thanks to its anti-glare screen coating. If I’m not mistaken, this is the first 3K OLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass Matte Pro, providing both the anti-glare effect and added protection. It weighs under 1 kg – around 990 g in the base configuration with the anti-glare finish (other configurations may be slightly heavier). Under the hood, it features an Intel Core Ultra 7 (Lunar Lake) processor, and importantly, it runs Windows 11 with an AI NPU and Wi-Fi 7 support. I use a 14-inch laptop myself with an anti-glare screen, so I can confidently recommend laptops of this size and with this type of display coating for anyone who travels frequently and works in varied environments.

Next up is the Acer Swift Air 16, which also falls into the “under 1 kg” category, weighing 990 g. It’s one of the lightest 16-inch laptops in the world. The laptop features a 3K (3200×2000) OLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate. It’s clearly aimed at traveling professionals, balancing portability with performance. A standout feature highlighted by Acer is the “World’s Largest Haptic Trackpad with Stylus Support,” offering tactile feedback along with stylus input. For the European market, it’s expected to retail from November this year at a starting price of €999.

Rounding out the laptop lineup is the Acer TravelMate X4 14 AI, positioned as a “workhorse.” It weighs 1.27 kg – slightly over 1 kg, but still officially classified as a lightweight business laptop. It comes equipped with all the essentials needed for solid everyday performance. Notably, it meets MIL-STD-810H standards, meaning it can withstand drops, vibration, dust, humidity, and sudden temperature changes. This doesn’t mean you can use it to hammer nails or submerge it in water, but it’s more durable than standard models.

Acer and Intel

There was a lot of interesting technology on display and discussed at the booths. As a bit of a break between devices, I’ll mention an intriguing collaboration between Acer and Intel that I saw firsthand. An Intel engineer demonstrated an AI agent capable of running locally, without an internet connection. I tested it with some non-standard, more specialized questions in my area of expertise. The agent handled queries on reverse engineering very well and even translated text into Ukrainian. To clarify, this was all done offline, as indicated by the icon shown on the device.

Predator, or what was shown for gamers

Separate from the main area, there was a “hidden” gaming zone where attendees could try out the latest Predator series devices. This was also where I tested games on a 3D monitor that works without any additional glasses or equipment. But for now, let’s focus on current devices, starting with gaming laptops.

IFA 2025, стенд Acer

There were quite a few models on display, but I’ll highlight a few. I’ll mention weight occasionally, though we all know that any gaming laptop is only relatively portable – it’s more of a stationary solution in practice.

I’ll start with the Acer Nitro V 16. It’s equipped with an Intel Core 9 270H processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPU – enough said, as the specs speak for themselves. The 16-inch display (2560×1600) supports up to 180 Hz, making it convenient to game anywhere, whether in the kitchen or another spot, without needing an external monitor – though pairing it with one is always better. Acer also includes an interesting AI-based technology that, according to the company, enhances cinematic visuals and gaming performance. The laptop weighs 2.4 kg, which is relatively light for this level of power. This setup can be useful for gaming as well as professional work. Many architects, engineers, 3D visualizers, and specialists in related fields often opt for gaming laptops like this rather than far more expensive mobile workstations.

IFA 2025, стенд Acer

A slightly more advanced model is the Acer Nitro V 16S. It features the same CPU and GPU as the Nitro V 16, but comes in a 19.9 mm metal chassis – ultra-thin for a gaming laptop.

IFA 2025, стенд Acer

This is a much bigger “beast” – the Predator Helios 18P AI. It comes with an Intel Core Ultra 9 285HX (vPro) and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU. The display is impressive: an 18-inch 4K Mini LED panel with a 120 Hz refresh rate and 1,000-nit brightness.

The RAM options immediately signal that this laptop isn’t just aimed at gamers – it’s also designed for game developers and 3D professionals. It supports up to 192 GB of ECC memory and up to 6 TB of PCIe Gen 5 SSD storage. While network connectivity might seem secondary for average users, advanced professionals will appreciate the Killer Ethernet E5000B, Wi-Fi 7, and Thunderbolt 5 Type-C support. And of course, such power demands a serious cooling solution, which here comes in the form of AeroBlade fans paired with Liquid Metal.

IFA 2025, стенд Acer

It may seem like I’m praising this model a lot – and I am. If you compare this laptop’s specs and price with professional mobile workstations, the difference is striking. Why? Gaming laptops are in higher demand, while professional workstations, even with similar specifications, are produced in smaller quantities, which drives up their cost. Acer’s approach works well both for the company and for users: you can run demanding software and still have a machine capable of AAA gaming. If I get a review unit, I’ll be able to demonstrate its potential for 3D graphics, rendering, and even complex engineering calculations.

Speaking of gaming, the topic wouldn’t be complete without covering monitors, desktops, and peripherals.

IFA 2025, стенд Acer

At the booth, the Predator Z57 A monitor stood out. This is a 57-inch curved Mini LED display with a 32:9 aspect ratio and Dual UHD resolution (7680×2160) at 120 Hz. It’s optimized for both gaming and productivity – calling it immersive doesn’t even begin to capture the scale. AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and Display HDR support ensure smooth visuals.

IFA 2025, стенд Acer

You could test games on it using the Predator Orion 5000, a high-performance desktop PC. In its top configuration, it features an Intel Core Ultra 7 265F and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080. It supports up to 128 GB of DDR5 RAM (7200 MT/s) and up to 2 TB of SSD storage, with additional SATA HDD options. The case includes tempered glass and Pulsar ARGB lighting with 16.7 million colors. Connectivity is comprehensive, with Wi-Fi 7, 2.5G Ethernet, and a powerful 850 W PSU. This system is clearly aimed at serious gamers seeking a balance between overclocking potential and stability, all wrapped in a clean, no-frills design.

Before moving on to peripherals, it’s worth noting the Predator X27U F8 monitor on display. Its extremely high refresh rate of 720 Hz will undoubtedly appeal to competitive gaming enthusiasts. Whether the human eye can actually perceive it is another question, but it’s certainly a staggering specification.

IFA 2025, стенд Acer

There was also the Predator Aethon 550 TKL gaming keyboard. It’s a tenkeyless design with three different connectivity options, and the backlighting can be customized per key. Switches can even be swapped while the keyboard is in use, without powering it down. Not everyone will need this, but it could be useful for certain users.

AI in every home

Finally, a very niche device: AI servers. Specifically, the Veriton GN100 AI Mini Workstation – a compact AI server in a mini-PC form factor. It features the NVIDIA GB10 Grace Blackwell Superchip, delivering up to 1 PFLOPS of performance. The system supports up to 128 GB of RAM and 4 TB of SSD storage, and two units can be combined to train models with up to 405 billion parameters. This setup allows large AI models to be trained and run locally, without relying on cloud services. It can handle massive data processing, and enables building and testing neural networks. In simple terms, it’s a “desktop supercomputer” for companies, researchers, and developers who need maximum AI performance in a convenient form factor.

IFA 2025, стенд Acer

A few examples of potential use cases:

  • Healthcare – analyzing medical images or genetic data locally, avoiding cloud transfer and maintaining privacy.
  • Architecture and Engineering – rapid generation of 3D models, simulations, or rendering using AI algorithms directly in the office.
  • Finance – real-time market forecasting, risk assessment, and handling large volumes of transactional data.
  • Media and Creative – generating images, video, or music; accelerated editing; and AI assistants for content creation.

IFA 2025, стенд Acer

The era when every home has its own mini AI server isn’t far off. For now, the price is still quite steep, and release dates are yet to be confirmed by Acer.

Conclusions

It was impossible to cover everything at the booth – there were also projectors, Wi-Fi routers, rugged access points with satellite backup, microscopes, and even scooters. Still, Acer’s presence at IFA 2025 made its strategy clear: AI for every device, from tablets to mini workstations. AI for every home, capable of running even without an internet connection.
