When it comes to gaming chairs – including the 1stPlayer WIN101 or any other – the first and most important requirement for me is a Class 4 gas lift. This ensures the chair is safe to use, which is non-negotiable. All other aspects and expectations depend on the price. And considering that, I can overlook quite a few shortcomings in the WIN101 model.

Positioning, price and package contents
Because the 1stPlayer WIN101 costs around $200 or €190. It’s not the cheapest branded gaming chair I’ve reviewed – but it’s one of the most affordable full-size models.
The chair comes partially assembled, with the package weighing 25 kg and measuring 840×650×320 mm. This means it can be transported by one person without much difficulty. Assembly is generally straightforward and can also be done solo. Some steps are easier if you place the chair on top of the box – for example, installing the gas lift is much simpler that way.
However, I do have a complaint about assembling the 1stPlayer WIN101 – a drawback that more modern models from competitors (and likely newer 1stPlayer models as well) have already addressed. This particular unit was manufactured in 2022, and the issue lies with the screws. They have a non-standard bit size and are pre-installed rather tightly. Since they come already screwed in rather than packaged separately, you’ll need to manually unscrew them before you can begin assembly – and then screw them back in, again manually.
If the screws had a standard bit size, you could simply use a power screwdriver instead of the included tool – cutting assembly time from 30 minutes down to about 10, and with far less effort. That said, I actually support the idea of pre-installing the screws into the frame. It streamlines the process and reduces the risk of losing any parts. It’s also a plus that all the screws – except for two – are standardized across the chair. And one more thing worth praising: the inclusion of assembly gloves in the box is a thoughtful touch.
Design
Visually, the 1stPlayer WIN101 looks fairly standard for a gaming chair, but it does have a few unique features that help it stand out. Most notably, the bold hexagonal pattern on the backrest immediately catches the eye.
In black, the 1stPlayer WIN101 has a uniquely premium and solid appearance – completely black chairs are quite rare, which adds to its refined look. The only contrasting design element is the dark purple company logo. The WIN101 is also available in bold turquoise and pink versions. These color variants are much more expressive, covering nearly half of the chair’s surface. Notably, there’s an interesting breathable pattern at the top edges, and on the colored models, additional text and decorative prints are found along the bottom edge.
I’ll also note that the turquoise version of the WIN101 comes in the currently trendy “Tiffany” shade. This makes it a fitting choice even for women who appreciate contemporary style trends.
The black version of the chair includes a matching headrest pillow, as well as black hardware, including all five wheels. As mentioned earlier, the gas lift is class 4, with a maximum weight capacity of up to 160 kg. The chair also features adjustable backrest tilt, ranging from 90° to 150°.
Next, let’s talk about where this chair falls short. The padding is made of molded foam, not memory foam. The armrests are only 2D, meaning they offer just two degrees of adjustability. Additionally, the five-star base is made of nylon rather than metal.
But the main catch is in the warranty. The steel frame comes with a 5-year warranty. The wheels are covered for 2 years. Meanwhile, the gaslift, tilt mechanism, armrests, and base each have a 1-year warranty.
And only six months warranty is provided for the headrest cushion, lumbar support, as well as the foam padding underneath and on the back.
Conclusions
This gaming chair is an example of how a well-known brand can offer a full-size model at a reasonable price while including some notable features and unique elements. The lower cost of the 1stPlayer WIN101 does affect certain aspects, but if you’re willing to accept these trade-offs, it’s a solid option.
