Ubisoft has recently officially confirmed the rumors. The Worldwide Reveal Showcase presentation dedicated to Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced will start on April 23 at 19:00 Kyiv time on YouTube. The company itself ironically called this project “the worst kept secret in the gaming industry” in its own teaser, and this statement is quite true.
The original version of Edward Kenway’s adventures attracted 34 million players, so the bar for expectations for the updated version is extremely high. Ubisoft has set April 23 as the date of the global launch, which will be broadcast on YouTube at 9:00 PDT / 16:00 UTC / 18:00 CEST. According to Insider Gaming, which cites a leak from a private media presentation, the release is scheduled for July 9, 2026. The game will be available exclusively on the current generation consoles – PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, as well as on PC.
This is a full-fledged remake based on the most modern iteration of the Anvil engine, not a regular re-release with improved textures. The project promises not only redesigned graphics but also fresh content, improved underwater gameplay mechanics, and the ability to interact with companion animals on board the ship, for example, petting a cat or monkey. Separately, Ubisoft emphasized that the game will not turn into an RPG. The developers have clearly stated that the project remains a character-centered solo adventure, refuting speculation about borrowing elements from Odyssey or Valhalla.
Initially, the presentation was prepared for the PlayStation State of Play event on April 16, but Ubisoft decided to postpone the announcement for a week to dedicate a separate show to the game. Since the release is expected on July 9, only two and a half months will pass between the official show and the game’s release. Such a short timeframe indicates that the development is actually completed. Pre-orders may become available in the coming days. The only thing left to do is wait for tomorrow’s show, which should dot the i’s and cross the t’s.
