UNITED24 and GSC Game World are launching an exclusive S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 charity giveaway. Participants will have a chance to win limited-edition S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 × UNITED24 collectibles, and the main goal of the campaign is to raise $100,000 for the “Humanitarian Demining” initiative on the UNITED24 platform.

The funds raised will be used to clear the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone of mines and other explosive ordnance left behind following the Russian occupation. These pose an additional threat to people working in the zone, complicate scientific and environmental conservation efforts, and can hinder rapid response to emergencies, particularly forest fires.

At the start of the full-scale war, Russian troops seized the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant and occupied the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. Members of the Ukrainian National Guard who were defending the facility found themselves surrounded, and the plant’s employees were taken hostage. When Ukrainian troops liberated these territories, mines and other explosive devices left behind by the occupiers were discovered there. Their disposal is an essential prerequisite for safe access to certain areas of the zone, for specialists to carry out their work, and for conducting research and environmental protection activities.
Demining will also enhance the ability of fire and rescue units to respond safely and promptly to forest fires, as well as simplify logistical routes for the Security and Defense Forces, which are constructing fortifications. “Demining the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone is, first and foremost, about the safety of the people who work there on a permanent basis: scientists and energy workers,” says Ihor Bezkaravayny, Deputy Minister of Economy and Environment of Ukraine. “Special attention is being paid to creating safe access routes for fire and rescue teams, which will allow them to respond more quickly to fires in the Zone without posing a mine threat to people.”

“The Chernobyl Exclusion Zone remains one of the most dangerous territories on the planet. A new threat has been added to the consequences of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant accident – contamination with landmines and other explosive ordnance resulting from a full-scale war,” noted Volodymyr Baida, director of the Center for Humanitarian Demining. “That is why every initiative that supports humanitarian demining is of utmost importance. The UNITED24 and GSC Game World campaign will help mobilize the resources needed to safely clear Ukrainian territories.”

Campaign participants will be able to receive exclusive S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 × UNITED24 collectibles. Among them are five commemorative keychains made from the fuselage of a Russian Mi-8 helicopter that Ukrainian military forces shot down over Chernobyl during the occupation of the exclusion zone.
“Chernobyl is the heart of our game universe. For us, it’s not just a setting or a story location – it’s part of the Ukrainian cultural code, an integral part of our identity,” say representatives of GSC Game World. “Today, amid the war, we want our creativity to have real power and help the country overcome the consequences of the Russian invasion. Therefore, this new joint project to clear the Exclusion Zone of landmines is an extremely symbolic and important mission for the entire studio.”

This is already the second joint campaign by UNITED24 and GSC Game World. Last year, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 joined UNITED24’s fundraising effort as part of the “Bring Back the Light” campaign – which raised $120,000 to provide Ukrainian schools with generators.
