Well-known insider OnLeaks has shared official CAD renders of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro, which suggest that the tech giant is preparing something new in terms of design for the next generation. Essentially, this model is practically a Galaxy S27 Ultra, but in a smaller body. And there’s another difference besides the screen size. According to these CAD renders, the model does not feature an S Pen slot.

The design is indeed very similar to the Galaxy S27 Ultra, though it’s worth noting that this charming shade of purple hasn’t been confirmed for this model yet. But for CAD renders like these, colors are always chosen to make the device as eye-catching as possible. Like the Galaxy S27 Ultra, the new model also features a large camera island on the back housing a triple-lens main camera. These are likely to be the same cameras as those on the Galaxy S27 Ultra, though it’s hard to say for sure at this point.

The Galaxy S27 Pro measures approximately 154.06×73.77×7.95 mm. It’s about the same thickness as the Galaxy S27 Ultra, but the body itself is about 9 mm shorter and 5 mm narrower, since the smartphone will have a display with a diagonal of about 6.6″. This makes the Galaxy S27 Pro much more comfortable to use with one hand.

Although many have already criticized this design online, it will actually help solve quite a few problems Samsung has faced in the past. For example, it addresses the wobbling that occurs when the smartphone is placed on a flat surface. The redesign may enable magnetic charging in the future and provide more space for the cameras and a larger vapor chamber.

The Galaxy S27 Pro is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Extreme running at 5 GHz. At the same time, there is a possibility that, as is customary in some markets, Samsung will opt to use the Exynos 2700, since this processor has performed well in the company’s internal testing. The smartphone may feature 12 GB of RAM, and models with larger flash storage capacities may offer a 16 GB option. Configurations with 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB of flash storage are also expected to be available.

The cameras are also expected to be similar to those on the Galaxy S27 Ultra: a 200 MP main camera and a 50 MP ultra-wide-angle camera. However, instead of the 5x telephoto camera found on the Ultra, the Galaxy S27 Pro will feature a 12-megapixel telephoto module with 3x zoom.

Currently, insiders speculate that the Galaxy S27 Pro will feature a larger 5,200 mAh battery, and this improvement may be due to the tech giant beginning to actively use silicon-carbon batteries. It is difficult to predict exactly when Samsung will unveil the Galaxy S27 Pro, as the company has recently been changing the launch schedule for the series. However, it’s reasonable to assume that the tech giant will choose a time before the Mobile World Congress, meaning closer to the end of February.

The million-dollar question is: what will the price tag be for the new flagship? Since this is a completely new model for Samsung, and all models in the flagship series are expected to increase in price, this is truly difficult to predict. So insiders are making fairly cautious estimates and citing an approximate price of $1,299.
