The premium car market has not yet decided how to treat electric cars. Some brands are completely abandoning battery-powered models, while others are looking for compromise solutions. However, Rolls-Royce continues to develop its flagship electric car and presents the updated Spectre Series II coupe.

The model, which debuted in 2022, quickly became the brand’s second most popular car in the world, behind only the Phantom sedan. In the new version, the manufacturer has combined technical updates with interesting design solutions.

The most important changes relate to the power plant. Rolls-Royce engineers have modernized the battery cell technology, which has allowed them to get more energy from each charge. The range has increased to 18% and now reaches 628 km on the WLTP cycle. In addition, the battery charging time was reduced by up to 14%.

The base powertrain develops 442 kW of power and 1015 Nm of torque. The Spirited Mode temporarily increases the figure to 1100 Nm for better dynamics. The company has also modified the electric motors to respond faster to accelerator pedal pressing.

For customers who need maximum performance, the Black Badge Spectre Series II will be released. It has become the most powerful car in the brand’s history. The model received an exclusive Infinity Mode, which provides 500 kW of power.

The new package replaces the traditional chrome elements around the grille, window frames, door handles and emblems with a matte black finish. The Spirit of Ecstasy figure also received a dark finish, while the vertical elements of the grille remained polished. The car retains its characteristic fastback silhouette and split headlights. A new Ethereal Blue body color has also been prepared for the model. In addition, the coupe is equipped with new 23-inch forged wheels, the design of which is designed to effectively reflect light. It takes up to six hours of manual work to polish and finish each wheel.

The interior focuses on new materials and decorative elements. For the first time, Rolls-Royce offered Duality Twill, a modern fabric based on bamboo fibers. The creation of a complete interior from this material requires up to 25 hours of production work, about 16 km of threads and up to 2.6 million individual stitches. The fabric is available in Sage, Lilac, Chocolate and Black colors. Customers can choose one of 50 colors of embroidery threads for individual decoration.

The architecture of the front panel has also changed. The glass instrument panel and clock section now stretch across the entire width in front of the passenger. The new clock is made in the style of aviation instruments and is located next to a small glass display case, which contains an illuminated version of the brand’s famous stainless steel figure.

The illuminated part of the front panel is decorated with a wavy pattern of 8108 luminous pixels. This is an imitation of the morning fog near the company’s Goodwood plant.

According to Rolls-Royce, Spectre owners drive about 6,500 kilometers a year on average, most often traveling alone and charging the car at home. One of the owners in Europe has covered more than 50,000 kilometers in two years of daily use of the Spectre.
