Samsung will officially unveil its new generation of foldable smartphones on July 22, but numerous leaks have virtually ruined all the suspense surrounding the event. Previously, insiders had been sharing information bit by bit, but a new large-scale leak has revealed nearly all the specifications of the upcoming Galaxy Fold8 and Galaxy Fold8 Ultra foldable smartphones, including color options and prices for the U.S. market.

Samsung Galaxy Fold8 Series

According to a new report from WinFuture, the Galaxy Fold8 will feature a 5.5-inch external display and a 7.6-inch main foldable screen. Both displays will support a 120 Hz refresh rate, and the main display will use Dynamic AMOLED 2X technology and have a resolution of 2448×1848. However, the source notes that users should expect black bars to appear when viewing content in various formats, including movies with aspect ratios of 21:9 or 16:9, as well as social media content in a 1:1 format. The external Dynamic AMOLED 2X display will have a resolution of 1972×1248.

To increase the durability of the foldable display and reduce the visibility of the crease at the fold, Samsung plans to use a new titanium frame. This is most likely the Flex Titanium technology, which the company unveiled very recently.

It is reported that the Galaxy Fold8 will be only 4.5 mm thick when unfolded, although this measurement does not account for the camera bump. The smartphone’s dimensions are rumored to be 161.4 × 123.9 mm, and it will weigh 201 g. It is also reported to have an IP48 rating, providing protection against water splashes and dust.

The Galaxy Fold8’s battery life will be powered by a 4,800 mAh battery with support for 45W fast charging. Entries in the European EPREL database indicate that the battery is rated for only 1,200 charge cycles, which means its lifespan will be slightly shorter than that of other Samsung smartphones. The model is expected to be available in Graphite, Cream, and Lavender, as well as an exclusive Pistachio variant for the online store. In Germany, the starting price, according to the leak, will be €1,999, although other leaks have indicated a starting price of $1,899 in the U.S.
