When it comes to gaming chairs, DXRacer is one of the first brands that comes to mind. The company has long established its presence in the market and is widely regarded as one of the pioneers of the gaming chair segment. Today, we are taking a look at the DXRacer Drifting Series L (GC/LDC23LTA/NR), a model featuring the brand’s signature racing-inspired design, a steel frame, and EPU leather upholstery. During our testing, we focused not only on day-to-day comfort but also on packaging quality, assembly, materials, and the initial impressions after putting the chair together.

Positioning and Price
The DXRacer Drifting Series L is positioned in the mid-range segment and is marketed as a versatile chair for gamers, streamers, and users who spend long hours at their desks. Compared to the brand’s entry-level offerings, the Drifting series features higher-quality materials, dense cold-cure foam padding, enhanced ergonomics, and a broader range of adjustments, while remaining noticeably more affordable than the flagship Craft, Master, and Tank product lines.

In the European market, the DXRacer Drifting Series L typically carries a recommended retail price of around €329–339. However, during promotional periods, it can often be found for approximately €249, making it one of the more compelling options in its class. Another notable aspect is the wide range of configurations available, with the model offered in more than 30 color variants and featuring different upholstery materials.

Among its main competitors are models from AndaSeat, ThunderX3, Cougar, Nitro Concepts, as well as the entry-level versions of the Secretlab Titan Evo.
Package Contents
Upon opening the box, it became clear that the outer packaging also served as the chair’s original retail packaging. At first, I had some concerns about its condition. The factory sealing tape had been partially peeled off and reinforced with an additional strip of narrow tape, creating the impression that the box might have been opened previously. However, once unpacked, the situation proved to be much better than expected. All components were securely protected and neatly arranged inside.
The package includes:
- Backrest
- Seat base
- Tilt mechanism
- Gas lift
- Five-star base
- Set of casters
- Armrests
- Decorative side covers
- Mounting hardware kit
- Assembly instructions

Despite the concerns regarding the condition of the outer box, the internal packaging deserves high marks. The backrest was sealed in an airtight bag with no signs of prior opening. All components were additionally protected with foam inserts and other packing materials.

Design and Materials
The DXRacer Drifting Series L follows the classic racing-inspired design language that has long been a hallmark of the brand. Its tall backrest, pronounced side bolsters, and aggressive lines give it the appearance of a sports car seat.

An interesting design element is the set of decorative covers that conceal the mounting points between the backrest and the seat base. Rather than using clips or screws, these covers are held in place by magnets. Simply positioning the cover near its mounting point is enough for it to align and attach itself automatically. This solution feels modern and significantly simplifies the assembly process.

While examining the underside of the seat, the metal staples and plastic zip ties used to secure the internal components of the structure immediately stood out. From a reliability standpoint, there is little to criticize – everything is fastened evenly and symmetrically. Visually, however, this solution appears less refined than the rest of the chair and somewhat detracts from the overall premium feel.

At the same time, it is worth noting that the upholstery surface is fairly prone to showing smudges. Fingerprints began to appear on it even during the assembly process.

Assembly
The assembly process left an entirely positive impression. All mounting holes align perfectly, and the bolts can be threaded by hand without resistance, misalignment, or the need to apply force. No component required any additional adjustment or fitting. It is evident that the manufacturer paid close attention to manufacturing precision and the overall quality of the components.
The quality of the threaded connections also deserves special mention. The bolts screw in smoothly and without the slightest issue.

Documentation and Usage Considerations
While reviewing the user manual, several rather unusual recommendations from the manufacturer stood out.
Specifically, users are advised to:
- Avoid exposing the chair to direct sunlight;
- Do not place the chair near sources of high heat;
- Avoid contact with open flames;
- Prevent direct contact between bare skin and the chair’s surface.

The last recommendation seems rather unexpected for a product designed for prolonged daily use. As a result, even the initial testing had to be carried out while wearing a shirt, despite the summer heat outside. Presumably, these recommendations are related to the properties of EPU leather, which may wear more quickly when exposed to sweat, skin oils, and ultraviolet radiation.

Ergonomics and First Impressions
The seating position is comfortable and largely meets expectations for a gaming chair. The backrest offers a wide recline range of 90° to 135°. The side bolsters provide secure body support, while the tall backrest offers adequate support for the upper back and shoulders. The armrests feature a sufficient range of adjustments, allowing the chair to be tailored to individual user preferences.

The lumbar cushion features a pleasant velour finish that contrasts nicely with the chair’s primary upholstery. The material is soft, comfortable to the touch, and remains pleasant even during extended use. This is particularly beneficial in the summer, as velour feels significantly more comfortable against the skin than synthetic leather. The only minor drawback is that the dark surface tends to attract dust and lint, meaning the cushion will require occasional cleaning.
