Xiaomi has officially unveiled its new Skynomad series of vehicles, marking its entry into the highly competitive extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) SUV segment. Today, the company held a presentation during which it discussed two models in the series and announced the start of pre-orders in China. The flagship N90 Max model offers a total range of up to 1,705 km, seats with 16-point massage, and an optional in-cabin table that transforms the family SUV into a living room.

The Xiaomi Skynomad series includes two crossovers with a range-extending system – the N70 Max and the N90 Max. Both models are built on Xiaomi’s proprietary Kunlun platform. Under the hood is a 1.5-liter engine with a maximum output of 112 kW (150 k.s.), which generates electricity for the battery and electric motors. Xiaomi emphasizes that the engine runs on gasoline with octane ratings of 92, 95, and 98, and its fuel consumption is 6.26 liters per 100 km.

Buyers can choose between two battery options: a 52 kWh Sunwoda lithium-iron-phosphate battery and a 76 kWh triple-cell CALB lithium-ion NMC battery. The Xiaomi Skynomad N70 is available in a version with a single 210 kW (282 k. s.) electric motor on the rear axle and with an all-wheel-drive dual-motor powertrain rated at 310 kW (416 k. s.). With energy consumption of just 15.85 kWh per 100 km, the model’s electric range under the CLTC cycle reaches 505 km.

The larger Xiaomi Skynomad N90 Max can travel up to 464 km on electric power alone. It has a turning radius of 5.95 m and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds. In addition, the 76 kWh battery can be charged from 20% to 80% in 18 minutes. Xiaomi representatives also reported that a 15-minute charge at a DC fast-charging station can add 285 km of range. The body of the Xiaomi Skynomad N90 Max is made up of 90.4% high-strength steel and aluminum alloy.
Xiaomi Skynomad crossovers use a 4-nm NVIDIA Thor chip for driver-assistance systems with computing performance of up to 700 TOPS. The same chip is used in Geely’s G-ASD G-Pilot H7 ADAS system. Skynomad models are also equipped with a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor. Other features include AI voice control, dual 5G and Wi-Fi connectivity, and an audio system with 25 speakers and a peak power output of 4,890 watts.

The Xiaomi Skynomad N90 Max features a seven-seat cabin with a 2+2+3 layout. The front seats can rotate 180° to face the second row. An optional table can be installed in the center console, transforming the N90 into a small living room in four-seat mode with a maximum headroom of 1,370 mm. Even in the base trim, the N90’s zero-gravity seats in the first and second rows offer a 16-point massage.

The Skynomad N70 Max measures 4,960 × 1,998 × 1,765 mm with a wheelbase of 2,950 mm. The N90 Max is a larger vehicle, measuring 5,285 × 1,998 × 1,825 mm with a wheelbase of 3,080 mm. The Xiaomi Skynomad N90 Max is already available for pre-order at a price of $44,320. The model’s official launch is scheduled for September 2026. Meanwhile, the more compact five-seat Skynomad N70 Max is priced at $38,410.

Skynomad-branded cars are entering a highly competitive segment already occupied by numerous models from Li Auto, Aito, Lynk & Co, BYD, Denza, Voyah, Deepal, and Zeekr. This is happening even as the EREV market share in China is shrinking. But Xiaomi has decided to take a chance and focus on a high level of comfort, competitive prices, and sufficient electric range.
