Recently, we wrote that Samsung has launched a beta test of the new One UI 9 shell, which can be joined by owners of Galaxy S26 smartphones. The program is currently available in four countries – South Korea, the US, the UK, and Germany, and on May 26, India and Poland will join it.
One UI 9 is expected to make its official debut at Samsung’s 2026 Unpacked event on July 22 in London. It will offer enhanced Galaxy AI features, larger brightness and volume sliders, an improved media player with lock screen animations, floating app bubbles, parental controls moved to a dedicated settings section, and more.

The Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S24 series are expected to receive the stable version of One UI 9 around the same time as the Galaxy Fold8 and Galaxy Flip8 in July. The Galaxy S23 series, A-series smartphones, and tablets will receive the update closer to the end of 2026. The tech giant has not yet shared an official list of devices that will switch to the new OS, but experts have already compiled a list based on Samsung’s 4-7 year update policy.
