Anyone who has searched for the ideal automatic coffee machine for home use knows how difficult the choice can be. The market is saturated with models, each promising to deliver flawless coffee. After reviewing dozens of options from different manufacturers, most people end up even more confused and make a familiar choice – they buy the most expensive automatic coffee machine within their budget, hoping it will guarantee high-quality results. Alternatively, they simply choose the most popular models in the budget or mid-range segment. Are they satisfied in the end? It is usually a 50/50 outcome.
But there is a third option. Relatively affordable automatic coffee machines without aggressive marketing. They simply work reliably, feature a clean and understated design, and produce excellent coffee. One of them is the MOVA Virtuoso 10 Pro. Let’s take a look at what this $350 coffee machine has to offer.

MOVA Virtuoso 10 Pro Design
My preferred approach to kitchen appliances is a restrained but still modern and premium look. The Virtuoso 10 Pro fits this description: clean lines, precise geometry, and no unnecessary decorative elements. The white version feels lighter and more neutral, the black version appears more graphic and strict, while the gold variant adds a more distinctive, expressive character. I received the black model, and it is also my preferred option – it best matches the overall design intent of the device.
The first impression after unboxing is very positive. The Virtuoso 10 Pro looks neat and stylish. There are no concerns regarding build quality: the plastic feels solid, does not flex or creak, and there are no gaps or loose elements. The assembly of the unit is straightforward – the process is intuitive and does not require referring to the manual.

The lighting deserves separate mention. In addition to the illuminated touch controls, there is a bright orange strip on the upper part of the корпус, and during beverage preparation an additional light activates, illuminating the pouring area directly into the cup. It is a small detail, but a well-executed and pleasant one.

Ergonomics
The coffee machine turned out to be more compact than I expected. Thanks to its vertical body layout, the Virtuoso 10 Pro occupies less than 0.1 square meters of countertop space – smaller than an A4 sheet of paper. Finding a place for it in the kitchen was therefore effortless.

Maintenance is convenient: the water tank can be easily removed, refilling coffee beans is straightforward, and cleaning the waste container also poses no difficulties. In practice, I usually empty it every one to two days, while water and beans are topped up in the evening.
There is also a practical detail worth noting before purchase: the dispenser height is adjustable, but the maximum cup height is limited. For most standard cups and glasses this is sufficient, but very tall latte macchiato glasses will not fit.
The корпус is tilted forward by 4.6°. This is one of those design choices that is so well thought out and well implemented that it is not immediately noticeable. Thanks to this, it is easy to place a cup under the spout, and the display naturally falls within an optimal viewing angle, whether you are sitting or standing.

User experience with the MOVA Virtuoso 10 Pro
The MOVA Virtuoso 10 Pro prepares 8 drinks: espresso, double espresso, lungo, americano, cappuccino, latte macchiato, frothed milk, and hot water for tea or cup preheating. Operation is straightforward – you simply press the corresponding button on the control panel, and the machine handles the rest.

On average, I prepare 4–6 cups per day. After a month of use, there were no malfunctions, freezes, or any need to restart the machine. Below, we will look at how the machine performs in real-world conditions and what actually stands behind its technical specifications and the manufacturer’s claims.
Simulating a Barista’s Hands: Smart Tamping and Extraction
Two separate motors are responsible for preparing the coffee puck: the first doses the ground coffee, while the second automatically tamps it from top to bottom – the same principle a barista applies manually using a tamper. This ensures that water flows more evenly through the compacted coffee bed, resulting in a richer and more consistent flavor. In practice, this is clearly noticeable: the coffee does not vary from cup to cup, and there has not been a single instance of a watery espresso.
Gentle Start: Pre-Infusion
To ensure a fuller and more even development of flavor, the Virtuoso 10 Pro performs a pre-infusion stage before the main extraction. During this phase, the ground coffee is first saturated with warm water, and only after that does the main brewing process begin.
Why is this needed? The reason is quite simple:
- after grinding, coffee retains carbon dioxide, which can interfere with the even flow of water through the coffee puck and negatively affect flavor clarity
- pre-infusion helps release this gas before the main extraction, resulting in a smoother cup with reduced sharpness and bitterness
It is precisely this gentle start that allows the aroma, depth of flavor, and pleasant aftertaste to be more clearly expressed in the cup.
Gold Standard: 19 Bar and Timing Control
The 19-bar pump provides sufficient pressure for proper extraction. The automatic coffee machine maintains a brew time within 20–30 seconds and a coffee-to-water ratio close to professional standards. The system ends the extraction at the right moment, preventing over-extraction and avoiding a burnt taste. The crema is dense, which is immediately noticeable.

Laboratory of Flavor: up to 90 profiles
The coffee machine offers three main adjustable parameters, which together provide up to 90 different combinations:
- 10 grind levels: from fine to coarse
- 3 temperature modes
- 3 intensity levels: allowing adjustment of coffee strength by automatically varying the amount of ground coffee from 6 to 10 grams
I settled on the finest grind setting, medium intensity, and maximum temperature. The coffee turns out hot but not scalding, so it can be consumed immediately. The differences between grind levels and intensity settings are clearly noticeable. I would recommend selecting these parameters based on the type of beans, in order to achieve the exact flavor profile you prefer.

It is also worth highlighting the ability to adjust the beverage volume for each drink. The process is simple: you hold the drink button for 3 seconds, wait until the desired volume is reached, and press it again – the machine then memorizes that volume. For milk-based drinks, the setting is done in two stages: coffee separately and milk separately. However, it should be taken into account that there are still limitations regarding maximum serving size.
LatteCraft: Automatic Milk Froth Preparation
The LatteCraft system handles the entire milk frothing process, so no manual work is required. You pour in the milk, connect the tube to the MOVA Virtuoso 10 Pro, press the button, and you get a thick, airy, fine-textured foam of medium density. It holds its shape well and does not collapse. For cappuccinos and lattes, the quality is more than sufficient.
The milk system is also easy to clean. I usually do it after each use. To clean it, you simply fill the milk container with water and press the corresponding button. The frother can also be easily removed and rinsed under running water, and a special cleaning needle is included in the kit for clearing the tube.

Easy to maintain: one-click cleaning and a removable brewing unit

The hygiene aspect is handled in a way that fits a modern coffee machine – without unnecessary effort, but with full control over cleanliness. An integrated automatic cleaning system flushes all internal channels with hot water immediately after startup. This helps maintain cleanliness in an automated way and reduces the buildup of residues inside the machine.
The removable brewing unit is easy to take out and can be rinsed under running water. There are also indicators for low water level, the need for rinsing, and descaling, which is very convenient.
I want to briefly focus on the descaling process. It is simple, but takes about 30 minutes. The MOVA Virtuoso 10 Pro notifies you when the procedure is required via a dedicated indicator. The instruction manual describes everything in detail, but in short, the steps are as follows:
- fill the water tank to the maximum level
- add one sachet of the special cleaning agent (three are included in the package)
- enter cleaning mode by holding the grounds container cleaning button and the milk system cleaning button for 5 seconds
After that, the coffee machine completes the process automatically.
A useful tip regarding the milk system: if, after cleaning, the foam suddenly stops forming properly, it is worth checking whether all parts of the frother have been correctly reassembled. If everything is in order, a reset may help. To do this, you need to press and hold the temperature and strength buttons simultaneously for a few seconds until an audible signal is heard. After that, the machine should be turned off. By the same principle, settings can be reset for each individual drink: hold the strength adjustment button together with the button of the corresponding beverage, and then proceed as described above.
Noise
It is not silent, but the noise level is generally acceptable. Broken down by stages:
- the grinding of the beans is quieter than a typical standalone coffee grinder
- during brewing, the sound level is comparable to a lever espresso machine, possibly slightly quieter
- the cleaning cycle is also not silent, but remains tolerable.
Pros
- Rich, well-balanced coffee flavor regardless of beverage type
- Flexible settings for grind size, temperature, and intensity
- Thick and stable milk foam
- Low-maintenance operation thanks to automation of key processes
- Convenient access to all components that require cleaning
- Maintenance reminders for service and cleaning tasks
- Three operating modes for different usage scenarios
- Compact dimensions
Cons
After several weeks of active use, no major drawbacks were identified. Rather, these are personal preferences for future iterations of the model.
First of all, a slightly larger water tank would be desirable. Due to its compact dimensions, the manufacturer had to balance size and capacity, so with intensive use the water needs to be refilled quite regularly. It is also worth considering the automatic rinsing cycles during startup and maintenance – while they help keep the internal systems clean, they also consume part of the water from the reservoir. This was not a problem for me, as it is easy to get used to this operating pattern, but a larger tank would still be preferable.
The second point concerns portion volume. While it can be customized, the adjustment range is still limited. For most drinks it is sufficient, but users who prefer larger cups may find the available flexibility somewhat constrained.
Conclusion
The MOVA Virtuoso 10 Pro is a compact automatic coffee machine that does not overpromise, but performs its core function very well: consistent coffee quality, convenient maintenance, restrained design, and minimalistic controls. Having previously used a semi-automatic espresso machine, the comparison is not fully direct, but the coffee produced by the MOVA noticeably outperforms it in terms of consistency and overall taste quality.

Would I recommend it? Absolutely – especially for beginners. There are no overly complex or confusing settings, as most of the processes are fully automated. It will suit cappuccino lovers (the foam quality is excellent), espresso drinkers, and small households of 2–3 people. A demanding coffee enthusiast who is used to fine manual control over every parameter may still want more flexibility, but for home use the level of control and performance is more than sufficient.
